On every job we do, we photograph the wiring before we close the walls and covers up. It’s not for our website — it’s for you. Here’s why that habit quietly saves our customers money and worry for years afterwards.
First thing to know
Once plaster goes back on and a socket faceplate is screwed down, the interesting part is invisible. So before that happens, we photograph each circuit: the cable routes, the connections, the consumer unit fully labelled, the earthing and bonding. When a job’s finished you don’t just get a certificate — the record of what’s actually behind your walls exists. If you ever drill into a wall, plan an extension, or another trade needs to know where a cable runs, the answer is a photo away instead of a guess and a chased-out wall. It also means that if you call us back in three years, we already know your installation before we arrive.
Safety note
When you have any electrical work done, always ask for and keep the certificate — the EIC or Minor Works Certificate. It’s proof the work was done and tested properly, your solicitor will ask for it when you sell, and without it an insurer can query a claim. If a tradesperson can’t give you one, that work wasn’t notified or tested, and that’s a problem you’ve inherited.
When to call us
