Survey and fixed quote
Martin or Ish walks the house with you, lifts a few floorboards, and quotes a price that doesn’t move.

First fix
New cables in, room by room in the order we agreed. Power and lighting stay on in the rooms we haven’t reached.

Second fix
Faceplates, switches, light fittings and the new consumer unit go on. This is the tidy, quick end of the job.

Test, certify, hand over
Every circuit tested and recorded. Martin checks the readings on the certificate himself before it goes out.

What moves the price

| Age of the house | Pre-1950 homes have lath-and-plaster walls and surprises under the floors. We price honestly for the era. |

| Partial vs full | Partial rewires cost proportionally more per floor because setup and testing don’t shrink. |

Questions we actually get asked
Do we have to move out during a rewire?
Usually not. We sequence the work room by room and put floors and power back each evening. About four in five of our rewire customers stay put. If the house is being fully renovated anyway, moving out does make it faster and slightly cheaper.
How do I know the house needs rewiring?
Rubber or fabric-insulated cable, a fuse board with rewirable fuses, sockets that spark or warm faceplates are the usual signs. An EICR (£225 for a 3-bed) gives you a definitive answer before you commit to anything.
Will you make good the walls?
We chase neatly and fill to a plaster-ready finish as standard. Most customers have their decorator do the final skim and paint — we’ll happily coordinate timings with them.
How long before we can decorate?
Filler needs about a week to dry through. Second-fix accessories go on last, so you can decorate as soon as our dust sheets leave.
Is the price really fixed?
Yes — once Martin or Ish has surveyed, the quote is the price. The only exception is something genuinely unforeseeable behind a closed wall, and we’d show you, explain it, and agree the cost before touching it.
Do you do partial rewires?
Yes. If the upstairs was done in the 90s and the ground floor wasn’t, we’ll rewire only what needs it and certify what we’ve done. We’ll never sell you a full rewire the EICR doesn’t justify.
