Walk the route
From the consumer unit to wherever the power is going — we measure the run and check the board has capacity.

SWA laid at depth, taped and sanded. You can dig the trench yourself to save money — we’ll tell you exactly where and how deep.

Connect and fit out
Glanding, sub-board, sockets and lighting in the building or on the terrace.

Tested end to end, certificated, and notified to Building Control where the job needs it.

Questions we actually get asked
Can’t I just run an extension lead to the shed?
For a mower on a dry afternoon, fine. As a permanent supply, no — leads through windows fail every test of safety and every insurance claim. A proper buried supply is a one-off cost that ends the question.
How deep does the cable go?
Deep enough that a spade won’t find it — typically 450mm under lawns and 600mm under driveways, with marker tape above. That’s the standard, and it’s where we put it.
Does a garden office need its own fusebox?
Its own small sub-board, yes — so sockets, lighting and heating out there are protected locally and a fault doesn’t take out the house. It also makes future additions cheap.
Can you power a hot tub?
Yes — £520 for a typical dedicated circuit with rotary isolator. Tell us the model before we quote; their demands vary more than the brochures admit.
Do garden electrics need Building Control?
New outdoor circuits are notifiable under Part P. We’re registered to self-certify, so the notification is handled by us and included in the price.
