Whole-house lighting scheme – Shere

The owners of a large family home in Shere had beautiful rooms lit badly — a single pendant in the middle of each ceiling, harsh and flat, with no way to set a mood in the evening. They’d recently redecorated and didn’t want walls torn apart, but they wanted the lighting to finally do the house justice: warm, layered, and controllable without a bank of ugly switches by every door.

We designed the scheme room by room rather than just adding downlights everywhere — layering ceiling light, wall lights and lamp circuits so each room can shift from bright and practical to soft and evening in one tap. Where we could, we ran new cabling through the loft and floor voids to keep decoration damage to almost nothing. We fitted warm dimmable LEDs throughout on quality dimming that doesn’t flicker or buzz, and added smart control so the family can set scenes and switch zones from a neat wall plate or their phones — without the house depending on any subscription or cloud to work. Every circuit tested, certificated, and photographed. The rooms look twice the size in the evening.
